Sculpture of Garuda
Very common in Bali are sculptures of Garuda who also ist the national symbol of Indonesia. Garuda is a mythical creature half man and half eagle. In Hindu mythology he is a devourer of nagas (snake-like demons) and the mount of vishnu. Garuda is said to be a friend of men who protects against snakes and fends evil.
